The Wearist Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you use The Wearist, we may collect the following categories of information:

• Profile details you choose to enter, such as your name and email address, plus an anonymous app installation identifier.
• Photos and images you choose to upload for style analysis, try-on, closet, or shopping features.
• Generated outputs such as AI style results, wardrobe recommendations, saved looks, plans, packing lists, or AI stylist conversations.
• Purchase and subscription information processed through Apple, RevenueCat, Stripe, or other payment partners.
• Device and diagnostics information such as app version, device type, and basic error logs.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide style analysis, color matching, virtual try-on, and wardrobe features.
• To store your preferences, profile, generated looks, plans, conversations, and app history.
• To process subscriptions, token purchases, promotions, and redemption flows.
• To improve product quality, stability, and feature performance.
• To communicate important service, billing, or support messages.

3. Photos and AI Processing

Before the first photo is sent, the app names the provider and asks you to agree; you can use the rest of The Wearist without agreeing. Every AI feature in The Wearist — style analysis, virtual try-on, the beauty guide, closet enrichment, visual search — works by sending the photo you selected to an external AI provider. Nothing is generated on your device.

What happens to an uploaded photo. The image is uploaded to KIE.ai, which hosts it at an unlisted HTTPS address and runs it through the model behind the feature you used (currently models operated by OpenAI and Google, accessed through KIE.ai). That address is not published anywhere, but it is reachable by anyone who has the link, and it stays reachable for as long as the provider keeps the file. Generated results are hosted the same way.

Visual search. If you ask The Wearist to find where to buy something, the hosted image address is sent to SerpAPI, which queries Google Lens and Google Shopping on our behalf.

Faces. Photos you upload usually show your face, and the models are instructed to preserve it. We do not run face recognition, we do not create a faceprint or any other biometric template, we do not match you against other people, and neither we nor our providers use your photos to train models.

Please upload only photos of yourself, or photos you have the right to use. Explicit, violent, or otherwise unlawful images are not allowed, and any generated result can be reported from inside the app.

4. Who Else Receives Data

The Wearist does not sell personal information. Every company listed here is bound by a written agreement to protect this data at least as strongly as this policy does, to use it only to provide the service we asked them for, and never to use it for their own purposes, for advertising, or to train their models. These are the companies that process data on our behalf, and what each one receives:

• KIE.ai — photos you upload, generated results, and the text prompt built from your preferences.
• SerpAPI — the hosted address of an image, when you use visual search or shopping matches.
• Apple — subscription and credit purchases made in the app.
• RevenueCat — purchase receipts and subscription status linked to your installation identifier.
• Stripe — payment details for purchases made on our website.
• Resend — your email address, when we send a password reset or answer a support request.
• Railway — hosting for our servers and database.
• Meta and TikTok — when marketing measurement is switched on, our server (not the app) reports events such as a completed purchase, together with the request IP address, browser user agent, and an irreversibly hashed email address if we have one. The app contains no advertising SDK and does not read your device advertising identifier.

If you tap a shopping link inside The Wearist, the click passes through our own redirect so we can measure it and, where an affiliate programme exists, earn a commission. Our website additionally uses Skimlinks to wrap outbound links.

5. Data Retention

• On your device: photos, saved looks, wardrobe items, and plans stay until you remove them or reset the app.
• With the AI provider: uploaded photos and generated results remain on KIE.ai’s file hosting under that provider’s own retention schedule. We can request removal of a specific file on your behalf.
• On our servers: your installation identifier, credit ledger, purchase references, subscription status, and reports you file. These are kept while the account exists and afterwards only where billing, fraud prevention, or law requires it.
• Analytics events: retained in aggregate; individual events are not used to build a profile of you.

6. Your Choices

• You may update profile information inside the app.
• You may remove saved photos or wardrobe items from the app.
• You can revoke camera or photo permissions in your device settings. The app keeps working; features that need a photo will ask again.
• Signed-in users can erase everything, on the device and on our servers, from Profile → Delete Account & Data. Without an account, Profile → Delete Local Data clears the device; write to us to have the installation record removed as well.
• You can report any generated image from inside the app, and a person reviews it.
• You may ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at privacy@thewearist.com.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Wearist is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Contact

You can permanently delete a signed-in The Wearist account and its associated cloud data from Profile → Delete Account & Data in the mobile app. For other privacy questions or data requests, contact: privacy@thewearist.com
